Fishing Report – Lake George, NY 5/16/17

Fishing Report – Lake George, NY 5/16/17 - Nate Galimore Fishing -

This fishing report is about a gorgeous day on Lake George.  Sadly my reason for being out was to test some rigs and tech.  I am heading to Seneca Lake soon for a trip.  So this fishing report will not provide any nice lunker shots.  My primary goal was to learn how to use my Fish Hawk TD.  I got this device to learn the running depths of my lures when I am pulling lead core.  Additionally, I wanted to begin collecting water temperatures at depth throughout the water column.   This new tech will be used to add more detailed readings of water temperature in my fishing reports.

As far as the fishing goes, I got out on the water around 3 pm sonar was showing lakers holding tight to the bottom at 100+ feet.  After two hours passed they came up and began feeding in 20-40 feet of water.  Which correlates to the temperature data I was seeing.  At 20-40 feet the water temperature began to hold at 48-49 degrees.  This is great for lake trout.   I saw a couple of bass on the sonar holding at the top of drop-offs in 10-15 feet of water too.

The bait clouds in the sonar images below pretty much went untouched by the trout.
