Lake George Fishing Report: 05/15/2022 at 09:49 am - Nate Galimore Fishing - -

So this was my first fishing outing on Lake George this year.  Make sure you check out the water temperature tab.  I was targeting Smallmouth Bass and Lake Trout.  I took me about an hour and half to come across a school of Smallies.  I found them after I moved from the Western side of the lake to complete opposite side on the East in the Northern Basin above The Narrows.  The smaller fish 12″-15″ inches were up close to the shore line.  The water is crystal clear on Lake George, so you can just throw a lure up against a rock faced shore line, and watch it drop on top of submerged rock ledge.  Then pull the lure over the submerged edge.  Not even ten seconds later you will get a bite.  I knew to slowly move away from the shoreline to find a rapid drop from 20 feet into 40ish feet of water.  That’s where the big ones where located.  The picture above was not the biggest Smallmouth to hit.  I sadly lost a massive one that I would put in the low 20″ range.  I was focused more on boat control since the wind kicked up some.  It crushed my lure, and I had performed weak hook set.  It torpedoed to the surface and threw my jig :-(.
Make sure you check out the water temperature tab,  I have a water temps for the full water column.
